Welcome to the NOW Workshops

NOW Workshops provide assistance with identifying and addressing employment barriers that may exist within our families. NOW Workshops focus on developing life skills through a variety of topics including discussions on how these topics affect a parent’s ability to maintain self-sufficiency. Virtual NOW Workshops are offered in four themes: Cognitive Behavioral, Family Dynamics, Personal Well-Being, and Self-Sufficiency.

Expectations
  • NOW Workshops is a flexible activity that allows you to meet your participation requirements. Your Social Service Worker will assign you to one of the available themes. 
  • Each theme is available on a weekly basis and is worth up to 30hpw of participation credit.
  • Each theme consists of 5 video presentations designed to have one presentation watched per day in the order shown in the links below. Only with permission by a NOW Workshop Social Service Worker may you watch a video out of this order. 
  • Each presentation is broken down into modules that include a video presentation and a corresponding companion guide with questions pertaining to that modules video presentation. Companion guides consisit of a few multiple choice and true/false questions that you must score 100% to receive credit for that module. You will have the ability to see your score, return to the companion guide to see incorrect questions, and have the ability to change your answer to achieve 100% an unlimited number of times. Final answers are automatically recorded and submitted. 
  • You will move to the next module within that presentation and repeat these steps. .
  • Every presentation will have an activity assignment that is to be completed after all module videos and companion guides are completed to allow you an opportunity to demonstrate understanding of the entire presentation. Activity assignments are broken down into sections that consist of open-ended short answer response questions. You will only receive participation credit for sections that are answered completely. 
  • In order for you to be awarded participation credit, companion guides and activity assignments must be submitted by 11:59 PM the day of the scheduled presentation.
